GATHERING ON SUNDAYS


  For Christians to gather on Sundays to share the word of God does not mean that Sunday is a holy day of God. As I have already stated above we worship God everyday. No day is superior to others in the presence of God now, since we are worshipping God spiritually and not carnally as before. We choose to gather on Sundays because our government declared Saturdays and Sundays free days in order that people can gather and meet their spiritual obligations.



  Secondly, we saw that the early Christians were gathering on Sundays to share the word of God. Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Corinth thus;
"Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. ON THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK let each one of you put aside and save as he was prospered, that no collections be made when I come"
1Corinthians 16:1-2.
We should also bear in our minds that our savior Jesus resurrected on the first day of the week, and most gatherings of believers that were before us to break bread was on
Sundays. (Acts 20:7)




  In conclusion, let believers stand firm in this truth and defend it always and everywhere because our salvation and sanctification are based on this. May God be with you all in Jesus name. Amen.
